Ayyildiz 2 Bed Apartment is set in a lovely large garden of flowers and trees in a quiet residential location in Fethiye, with an easy walk to all facilities, or frequent minibuses; no need to drive. Situated in a newly built traditional style villa, not on a holiday complex, comfortably furnished with Turkish fabrics and rugs throughout. Within the garden are shaded seating areas, a large swimming and children’s splash pools. Plenty of beaches to choose from, sandy or pebbly, in the surrounding area. The apartments are suitable for people who want a personal and traditional Turkish experience. The owners and representative are English, with extensive experience in Turkey, so language with local knowledge is at hand. They are just 5/7 minutes walk from the sea, located between Calis and Fethiye Town centre, approximately 20 minutes walk/5 min bus from both, with weekly local markets selling fresh fruit and vegetables, spices, cheeses, yoghurts, textiles, leather goods, jewellery etc. Bedroom one with twin beds, clothes storage, French doors to balcony, mountain views, air-con/heating. Bedroom 2 with twin beds, clothes storage, French doors to balcony, mountain views, air-con/heating. Living room can be third sleeping area, with sofa bed, French doors to balcony. All fitted with security doors. Fully tiled bathroom with shower cubicle, basin and wc. Kitchen with gas hob, microwave combination oven, washing machine, large fridge/freezer, kettle, toaster, etc. Plenty of pots, dishes and crockery etc., for families/entertaining. Hallway store with useful equipment, eg. iron and ironing board, cot etc., emergency lighting (for the occasional power cut). Living room with sofa bed (single/small double) side tables, TV (satellite), DVD/CD, Hi-Fi tape and radio, iPod speaker. Ceiling fan, air-con, heating for winter season. French doors to large balcony overlooking garden and pool with table, seating and barbecue. Steps to garden. Large balcony is used as an ‘outdoor room’. Set in a spacious, well-tended communal garden, the apartments have large, well-shaded, private balconies, with table and chairs for balcony meals and barbecue. Each has easy access to the garden and pool via lockable gates from the balconies. There is a large swimming pool on site, shared occasionally with other residents. Plenty of sunbeds with mattresses and also shaded areas where you can use tables and chairs for eating or relaxing in different parts of the garden, means there enough facilities for all guests in the event all apartments are occupied. The Apartment has pool views. From the pool and other parts of the gardens there are delightful mountain views. In early season, the mountains are still snow-covered while the garden is sunny and warm.

Area activities

Fethiye is situated in a bay with numerous islands which can be visited by boat trips from the harbour. Carpet shops, boutiques, restaurants and clubs are found in the old town and restaurants and bars line the promenade and harbour side. With the variety of places to eat, drink, and relax, many pleasant hours can be spent watching people, boats, and the Fethiye pelicans! Treat yourself to a Turkish bath or visit to the Turkish barber. There are also ancient Lycian rock tombs cut into the hillside and other areas of historical interest. To our right is Calis, with its famous beach and sunsets, water park and variety of restaurants. You don’t need a car, (Dolmus or public minibuses seem to go everywhere) but it can add to the holiday allowing the freedom to explore, stopping as you wish. Travelling through the small villages around the area you will find how traditional life continues. If you prefer to explore by boat there are boat trips available from Fethiye harbour or from Calis calling at many of the islands and the bays unreachable by road. You can also take a day trip to the Greek island of Rhodes. By private car hire or via the wonderfully reliable and economic bus system, you can explore both inland for example to Kaya (‘ghost’)village or along the coast to the famous Olu Deniz lagoon or further to Kas and Kalkan. In both Fethiye and Calis there are banks, supermarkets, chemists and all you need for day to day life. There is also good medical and dental care should this need arise. On Sunday people assemble in Calis for market day and on Tuesday in Fethiye, affording the opportunity to buy some of the best local produce as well as clothes, leather goods, shoes, textiles, souvenirs etc. There is a another fresh produce market on Fridays. Mugla province is famed for its almonds, honey and thyme. The apartments are ideal for couples, friends or families, with plenty in the surrounding area to see and do during your stay; ancient sites and modern life. The sea is a level 5/7 minute walk, at the bottom of the road, and the area is popular for fishing. From there you can walk to the left along the promenade, with activities and cafes, or alternatively, right towards Calis, finding free empty beaches and others with cafes or restaurants and sunbeds. Beyond the town there are numerous bays, some sandy, some pebbly but all with crystal clear water and many ideal for snorkeling, which can be reached by the frequent minibuses or car if preferred.

The nearest airport is Dalaman and the transfer time from Dalaman to the apartment is 45 minutes. We recommend guests use our transfer service to ensure a smooth and safe journey to and from the airport. We also have great deals on car hire, please contact us for more details.

Dalaman airport is a 45 minute drive from Calis beach.

Other transport

The apartments are not on a holiday complex but in a quiet residential part of Fethiye itself. From here it is a 20 minute walk (5 minute drive or bus ride) to the centre of Calis and approximately 30 minutes walk to Old Fethiye and harbour (5-10 minutes by car or bus). Gocek, Olu Deniz and other quiet villages and beaches are nearby and accessed by minibuses which run from the end of the road (5 minutes walk). Buses run late into the night, enabling long day/evening outings with no need to drive.

Policies & disclaimers

PAYMENT - A 25% deposit is payable to reserve the booking. The balance is due 8 weeks before the arrival date. The 25% deposit is non refundable. If the start date of your holiday is within 8 weeks from the date of booking, you must pay 100% of the rental cost of the property, together with the security deposit at the time of booking. CANCELLATION - When a booking is cancelled, it will depend upon the amount of time still to elapse before the arrival date for any refunds. See below: 4 weeks before booking date – charge deposit + 50% and 1 week before booking date – charge deposit + 100%If a client wishes to alter their booking, Rainbow Property Rentals will endeavour to comply, however an alteration cannot be guaranteed. An admin charge of £25 is payable. LIABILITY - Rainbow Property Rentals and the owner of the property does not accept third party liability in respect of breach of contract, negligence, misrepresentation or otherwise. We will not accept liability for personal injury, death, loss or damage arising from the provision of letting the accommodation. In addition, liability does not extend to circumstances amounting to “Force Majeure”.SECURITY/BREAKAGE DEPOSIT - A £100 refundable security/breakage deposit is payable at the time of the balance (8 weeks before arrival date). Upon departure when the property is checked, and if everything is found to be satisfactory, the £100 will be refunded to your UK bank account within 14 days of departure.
